Standing at the edge of the concrete
Looking over to see what is left
An endless parking lot made of more
The world doesn’t exist it is only paved
Portioned off for you to believe
That this is all so much bigger than it is
None of this matters at the end of the road
Against the asphalt no one knows
Knows anything worth knowing at all
I don’t understand what’s so difficult about this…
Stepping through the threshold
Broken sense of reality
Welcome sense of grief
Forever stripped of the ties that bind
Forced their way around my throat
Suffocating, knotting, twisting
Chocking out the sounds
Hidden in my mind
Screaming, I never was
Screaming, I never was one of them
Lies told to myself
Battle between what is and what I believe
Broken sense of existence
We’ve only just begun to understand nothing at all…
Digging in deeper
The pain isn’t what it was before
Lost in this idea
That suffering is all there ever was
Surface rises to a point
Splitting open the skin separates
A lost feeling trapped in an idea
Freedom from these demons held within
It wasn’t what I wanted
What I was given wasn’t a choice
The world buried beneath the skin
Was only looking for a way out
Lost in this idea I can’t seem to find
