Same useless self no matter where I go
Thoughtless and pointless to fight this any further
Escaping my skin would be a waste of time

What it took to live
In these shoes

Shaking in place
Fear always seemed to be

Trapped inside your own head
Screaming for more
Wanted so much more
Wanted it all and now

Waiting for a sleep that never rests
A constant search with no results
Giving up was more than just in my head

So here we are once again
Think everything is about you
The light shining down bright
Upon you once again at the end of days
Your silence leaves you with nothing to say
Because you never were the chosen one any way
Think everything is worth more than it is
Nothing is worth more than dust in the end
A broken sense of self to believe anything else
The end was nigh and now the mystery of life
Is left to begin again with or without you
She has been here so much longer than you
And you expect me to bend, to bow to a relentless thought
In the name of something that never existed
