You could fail and it didn’t matter
A mystery like mentality I can’t seem
To understand and yet I live
I live because I haven’t died yet
Walking along the banks of an empty river
Talking about suicide as though one in the same
Cement shoes and a weighted vest won’t help
Still couldn’t bring myself to dive right in
You could fail and it still might matter
Seems at times that things just happen
For no reason… for no real intentions
A scene born out of a lack of anything
To be part of something has to mean everything
Standing in the back of the room
Waiting for a call that never comes
You could fail and you know you will
Focus on something other than myself and my fears
Was it a joke or something written down
Drugs play a bigger part than you think
So shy it almost doesn’t make sense
That we’d throw ourselves in a fire that doesn’t feel
If anyone would even bother to figure it out
A future left walking in my own shadow
What do you have to lose waiting around
Drowning under water that isn’t there made of air
Choking and spitting… starting to make sense
A need to find my own thing or I’ll never live
You could fail and it never mattered
Just living a life of simple dreams
